Milos · Greece

Tsigrado Beach.

A small, vivid turquoise cove below the cliffs of southern Milos — beautiful, but only for people comfortable with a steep, narrow ladder descent.

Why go.

The cove is tiny and dramatic, framed by high cliffs with remarkably clear water. It feels rewarding because getting there is part of the experience.

The access.

You reach the beach by climbing down a steep, narrow wooden ladder through a rocky cleft. It is not suitable for anyone uneasy with heights or limited mobility.

My tip.

Wear shoes with grip for the ladder, keep your hands free and avoid carrying large bags. Check the sea before committing to the descent.
