Switzerland guide
Lake Brienz.
The unreal turquoise lake in the Bernese Oberland — surrounded by mountains, quiet villages and some of the prettiest water I have seen in Switzerland.
Lake Brienz is the perfect slower day around Interlaken. Come for the scenery, leave time to wander the shoreline, and do not rush it into a quick stop between bigger plans.
Why it is worth adding
A beautiful lake day, without needing a packed itinerary.
The colour of Lake Brienz changes from deep blue to bright turquoise depending on the light, and the mountain backdrop makes every part of the shoreline feel cinematic.
It is an easy one to pair with an Interlaken stay, but it feels calmer once you get away from the main town. I would give it at least half a day so you can actually enjoy the views rather than just take a photo and leave.

My tip
Keep this day flexible.
The best part is simply following the lake and stopping when somewhere catches your eye. Check the weather before you go, take layers for the water, and allow extra time for the views — they are genuinely that good.
