The place

Why it is worth the stop

Limeni sits on the Mani coast in the southern Peloponnese. Stone houses meet clear water at the edge of the village, and the days naturally revolve around swimming, seafood and sunset.

The village is small, the water is always in view and most of the day can be spent on foot once you arrive. It has the relaxed coastal atmosphere people often travel to the islands to find.

My visit

A personal note

What stayed with me was the combination of stone buildings and exceptionally clear water, especially as the light changed towards evening.
