Mykonos Guide.
Mykonos is much more than its nightlife reputation. Chora, Little Venice, the windmills, small lanes and beaches can still make it one of the most visually striking Cycladic islands when you explore beyond the busiest hours.
Best for
Beautiful Chora, beaches, restaurants and nightlife
How long
2–4 days
Getting there
Mykonos has an international airport and extensive ferry connections across the Cyclades.
Plan your stay
Do the famous parts at the right time, then look beyond them.
Mykonos can still feel genuinely beautiful when you give Chora an early morning or evening, balance it with a beach day and make time for Delos or Rhenia.
See Chora early
Little Venice, the windmills and the small lanes are most enjoyable before the busiest part of the day.
Choose your beach area
The south coast offers the most choice, but the atmosphere changes hugely between calm, polished and party-focused beaches.
Take a boat to Delos or Rhenia
A day on the water gives the trip another dimension beyond Mykonos Town and the beach clubs.
Where to stay
Mykonos Town is best for evenings and walkability. Ornos and Platis Gialos are practical for beaches, while Agios Stefanos is calmer and close to town.
Getting around
Buses cover key beach routes in season, but taxis are limited. Book transfers in advance and do not rely on last-minute transport at peak times.
How long to stay
Two or three nights gives you Chora, a beach day and a boat trip. Add nights if you want slower beach time.
Recommended experience
See Delos & Rhenia by boat.

Good to know
Before you go
Prices and crowds peak sharply in high summer. Early mornings and shoulder-season trips make the famous parts of Chora feel completely different.
