Paros Guide.

Paros is an easy island to recommend because it balances attractive villages, beaches, restaurants and good transport links. Naousa and Parikia feel different enough that it is worth seeing both rather than staying in one bubble.

Best for

Cycladic villages, beaches and an easy all-round trip

How long

3–5 days

Getting there

Paros has an airport and frequent ferry links with Athens and neighbouring Cycladic islands.

Plan your stay

An easy all-round island with two very different bases.

Paros works well because it combines good transport, beaches and villages without requiring a complicated itinerary. Parikia and Naousa each give you a different version of the island.

See both Parikia and Naousa

They feel distinct enough that it is worth exploring both rather than only staying in one area.

Make time for Lefkes

The inland village is a good change from the coast and gives a more traditional side of Paros.

Use a boat day for Antiparos

The water around Antiparos is a simple way to add a different beach experience to the trip.

Where to stay

Naousa is prettier and more polished; Parikia is more convenient for ferries and budgets. Choose the south-east beaches for a slower beach-first stay.

Getting around

Buses cover the common routes, but a car or scooter is useful for Lefkes, quieter beaches and a more flexible day.

How long to stay

Three or four nights gives you towns, beaches and one inland or boat day. Five is better in high summer when you want slower beach time.

Recommended experience

Good to know

Before you go

It becomes very busy in July and August. If you want the prettiest villages without the busiest atmosphere, travel just outside peak season.
